About Us

Hi! Amanda and Kevin here! We're the owners of The Laundry Basket-a full service laundromat and tanning salon. We're born and raised in the Bangor area and proud to raise our family here as well. As busy, working parents of two very messy children, laundry can feel like a four-letter word in our house. We approach our service offering at The Laundry Basket with our own experience in the forefront of our minds. How can we help make this never-ending chore as easy and pleasant as possible! If you're coming in to use our self-service washers, we want you to feel welcome, safe, and relaxed which is why our friendly staff are there to help and to keep the facility clean, clean, clean! For those who are looking to spend less time on chores and more time on life, we can do your laundry for you! You can drop off at our store or we'll pick it up and deliver it to your doorstep! We very much subscribe to the "life is short" outlook so we try to bring a level of fun and ease to everything we do--even laundry!

  • What services do you offer?

    The Laundry Basket offers self-service washing and drying, full-service wash-dry-fold, and tanning. Our self-service machines include 3 sizes of washer and two sizes of dryer. Each machine can take coin, credit card, or contactless payment. We offer both drop-off and pick-up and delivery for our wash-dry-fold laundry service. We have a full tanning salon with three types of tanning bed and multiple tanning package options (no subscription needed!). We have vending machines in house for laundry accessories or snacks. Finally, we have a wide variety of tanning lotions and body lotions. The Laundry Basket no longer offers dry-cleaning services.

  • What are your hours?

    We are open 8am-8pm, seven days a week. The last selfservice wash is at 6:30pm and the last tanning session is at 7:00pm.

  • Do I need an appointment for laundry service or tanning?

    No! Both tanning and our drop-off wash-dry-fold laundry service are both on a walk-in basis.

  • How long does wash-dry-fold service take?

    For those dropping their laundry off in our store for washdry-fold, we guarantee a 24 hour or less turn around time. We have a 2 day turn around time for pick-up and delivery, though we only go to certain towns on certain days so your delivery time may be impacted by the delivery schedule. When scheduling your pick-up online, you will see your

    delivery day options.

  • I have allergies. Can I provide my own detergent?

    Yes! While you do have the option to select our scent-free laundry soap, you may also include your own soap with your laundry. Please remember to put those instructions in your online orders or tell the attendant if you are dropping off in store.
